Asro

Who are we?

ASOCIATIA DE STANDARDIZARE DIN ROMANIA – ASRO is a private body of public interest, an NGO, which represents the organizational frame for the Romanian standardization activity (recognized by the Romanian government and notified to the European Commission). ASRO is a full member of CEN and CENELEC, as well as an observer member of ETSI. Likewise, ASRO is a member of ISO and IEC.
Covering both electro-technical and non-electro-technical areas, ASRO is the recognized organization for managing formal standardization activities in Romania, assuring public information in the field of standards and standardization.
Involving standardization within the project creates a better introduction to the market, thus helping it to achieve the highest performance indicators, and increase visibility. Applying national, European, and international standards (along with knowledge in standardization) brings benefits such as:
• avoiding needless work, by following the best practice of the most important economic actors;
• easy access to national, European, and international markets;
• ensuring that the ideas used are globally recognized.
