Ambition statements
As the project coordinator, IDENER aims to leverage its expertise in engineering, pilot construction, and process optimization to demonstrate innovative extraction and purification processes at TRL6. The company’s objectives include integrating digital technologies for process optimization, developing efficient pilot operations, and ensuring the project’s overall success. IDENER seeks to contribute significantly to the circular economy by creating high-quality end products for various industries while promoting sustainable practices and technological advancement in rare earth element recycling.
Technologies
For subtask 5.1.2, IDENER will carry out the development of a pilot plant with a processing capacity of 200-500 kg per batch which contain also an upscaled reactor for reaching TRL in the purification step. This reactor for purification steps will serve for purification of solutions from upscaled SSC and upscaled SENE. Additionally, IDENER will lead WP7, which englobes the development of mathematical models for metal extraction processes, the design of the engineering for optimum extraction processes, and the creation of a digital twin’s tool to generate a virtual plant of the overall process.
