Turning Magnetic Waste Into Treasure
ISMC

The Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) brings together more than 80 companies, professional organizations, universities and research centres, dedicated to the mining industry and its associated services. Our members expertise covers the whole mining value chain, representing more than 2000 employees together and over €1bn turnover annually.
Our main objective is to join efforts and attract actors in the mining and raw materials value chains, to achieve sustainability and circularity in the sector while promoting growth, competitiveness and innovation.

We work with our members and partners to consolidate the strengths of our mining industry globally, focusing in developing collaborative projects with our commercial and institutional partners in the European Union.

Founded in 2018, ISMC has since expanded its ambitions and scope becoming an effective instrument to promote innovation in the mining sector at national and European level. Our activities and services are aligned with European policies, initiatives and strategies related to resource efficiency, sustainable development and circular economy. This alignment enables us to integrate the Spanish mining industry into global value chains through the development and adoption of innovative products, processes and services, and achieving sustainable mining with low environmental impact, where natural resources are used wisely and effectively.

Ambition statements
ISMC has strong experience in clustering activities: bringing together projects to promote innovative solutions and develop ideas into results. Together with Ecocastulm, we will bring this experience to the project to ensure that the knowledge and solutions developed in Neocycle are shared with relevant projects and initiatives to strengthen its reach. We will also develop effective synergies with regional and European initiatives and partnerships to strengthen collaboration and support project objectives. Finally, we will liaise with RMIS to ensure that the knowledge created in the project finds its place in the European repository for Raw Materials.
