The Stena Group was born in 1939 in Sweden and from the beginning, the Company has dedicated itself to the use and improvement of resources that would otherwise be discarded; over the last eighty years, STENA’s activities have constantly expanded and evolved to include many areas, including the collection, recycling and reuse of waste (sector in which Stena Recycling specializes).
In Italy, Stena has 4 sites all located in Northern Italy: 2 of them are in Lombardia, 1 in Veneto and 1 in Emilia Romagna.
In Lombardia, there is the Cavenago di Brianza plant, specialized in the recovery of large household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, etc.
In 2023, the company Pyreco (San Giovanni in Croce) was acquired, which is dedicated to the recovery of aluminum.
In Veneto, the Angiari site is located where, in particular, we note the presence of a special section intended for the recovery of precious metals and, in 2022, a unit aimed at recovering plastic deriving from WEEE was built.
Finally, in Emilia Romagna, we have the Carpi hub which is establishing itself in the recovery of photovoltaic panels and lithium batteries.
The goal that Stena aims to achieve, through participation in the “NEOCYCLE” project, is to make a difference in the recycling industry by making its professionalism and experience available. NEOCYCLE is a project of absolutely innovative scope and Stena can only be proud to be part of it. Stena Recycling mission is to turn waste into new resources. Project NEOCYCLE allows us to test ourselves, demonstrating that any resource, even those destined to be disposed of, deserves to be valorized.
