Who are we?

Established in 1922 (re-established in 1989) Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) is the liberal arts public university based on the Harvard model. VMU is engaged in relevant research activities that contribute to the national as well as international communities. In addition to 46 BA and MA full-time degree programmes in English, VMU offers 224 study degree programmes for nearly 10 000 students. The University also offers doctoral studies in 23 diverse fields of natural, technological, agricultural, social sciences and humanities. VMU brings together scientific human resources within thematic clusters and research institutes seeking to assure the interdisciplinary approach, broad scope, high impact, accessibility of research outcomes. VMU has been involved in HORIZON, Horizon 2020, COST, Erasmus+, Nordplus, LIFE, Interreg activities as well as national European Structural Funds’ projects as a project partner and coordinator (over 100 EU ongoing projects in the fields of biotechnology, biophysics, bioeconomy, agriculture, creative industries, law, education, sociology, psychology, computational linguistics, bilingualism, etc.). Researchers have accumulated solid experience in international scientific research and project management and hold memberships in national and international professional associations in diverse scientific areas and fields. Ambition statements

VMU together with partners will implement communication and dissemination activities ensuring the high visibility of the project and its results, sharing knowledge on circularity, WEEE and sustainability to the general public, relevant stakeholders, particularly to the academic community. VMU will also contribute to the sustainability assessments, showcasing environmental, social and economic profile of magnets upcycling.
